Stay Race-Ready With the Nike Vaporfly 4 and Streakfly 2

Nike Vaporfly 4 and Streakfly 2

Innovations in the running footwear space never cease, with brands the world over trying to beat each other in getting speedy sneaks on the feet of elite athletes. Nike are obviously one of the front runners and are armed with mega facilities to help bolster their catalogue. Fresh off the track are two brand new editions of long running franchises – the Nike Vaporfly 4 and Streakfly 2. The former franchise has been described as ‘technological doping’, while the latter is a speed demon built for those shorter distances.

The Vaporfly 4 is the highly anticipated next part of the legendary franchise and it comes in at 10 grams lighter than its predecessor and 20 grams lighter than the OG. There are a plethora of new details, including a new Flyplate curvature and plenty of ZoomX foam.

‘The Vaporfly 4 is the ideal Vaporfly. Nike nailed it,’ says Mohammed, a Nike athlete and Canadian long-distance runner. ‘There are so many aspects I love about this shoe: It’s lighter than its previous iteration, more responsive, gives a comfortable ride, has a stable feel, and offers a great fit. Simply put, it’s the perfect combination of carbon to foam in this shoe to date. I love running fast in this shoe.’

The Streakfly 2 is a shorter distance runner and has been built on the last of a track spike. Built using a full-length Flyplate (which is a first in this franchise), ZoomX Foam, and 4mm offset, it’s built for super lightweight adventures.

‘Usually, I would need to switch from sneakers to spikes during interval training to condition my muscles and avoid injury,’ says Nike athlete Jessica Hull, an Australian middle- and long-distance runner. ‘But the responsive, supportive design of the Streakfly 2 allows me to run all of my fastest reps without having to change into spikes, helping my feet and legs feel fresher the next day.’

Nike are stocked and ready with the Vaporfly 4 and Streakfly 2 in both men’s and women’s sizes, so cop yours right here.
