Nike Want You to Vote for the Future of Air
have launched , a sneaker design program that puts power in the hands of the community — just like last year's RevolutionAirs comp. From thousands of entries, Nike have selected 18 finalists to create imaginative Air Max sneakers based on six major cities around the world.
The three finalists from each city created designs for Paris, London, New York, Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo, each representing their hometowns. Designs consist of an based on kung-fu slippers, an based on the Seoul metro system, an based on an under-construction Parisian courthouse, plus many more. Nike are inviting the public to vote for their favourite designs, with the highest-rated design for each city to be put into production.
Sadly, you can only vote for one shoe out of the 18 and not one per city, otherwise Nari Kakuwa's Air Max 98 for Tokyo would certainly have got a vote from this writer (Quentin Sobaszek's Air Max 180 was just too good to pass up). Fortunately, you can cast a new vote every day of the competition period, so be sure to spread the love around!
