Official Images: Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Low in Black/Blue
If you've been patiently waiting for the release of the collection, you can take heart in two pieces of good news: as of now, it's still scheduled for a November release and official images of the black/blue colourway have just surfaced.
's collaborations with on models like the , and generally garner widespread acclaim. However, the -helmed brand's low-top takes on the have proven to be more divisive than past efforts. This could be because the Air Jordan 2 Low is a more under-the-radar silhouette than the three models listed above, or it could be because of the design's unique main detail: a cracked and faded midsole with a trompe l'oeil print that makes it look as if it's about to disintegrate!
The exact point of the decayed detailing is still unclear, but it's a possible nod to the Air Jordan 2's age (it debuted in 1986) and heritage. Apart from the midsole, the shoe's black/blue palette and combination of smooth and pebbled leathers give it a sporty-yet-luxurious look. Meanwhile, signature Abloh details like an orange zip tie, Helvetica text on the medial quarter, exposed foam collars and co-branded insoles supply familiar Off-White flair. Apart from the midsole, the pièce de résistance is 's 'signature' in silver on the lateral midfoot.
Look for the Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Low in black and blue to release November 12, pending another postponement. The shoe's retail price has yet to be announced.
