On-Foot: The Nike Air Force 1 ‘Flax’
Originally hitting the hardwood in 1982, the transcended its performance background to become a lifestyle classic.
The iconic silhouette has been consistently tapped by collaborators (the Air Force 1 has recently been remixed by the likes of hype labels and PEACEMINUSONE), and now Nike’s in-house team are once again preparing a variety of ‘Flax’ models. The AF-1 Low ‘Flax’ seen here in a completely unchanged aesthetic from its 2019 drop.
Manufactured with a brown nubuck reminiscent of construction boots, the AF-1 Flax is composed with hues of caramel brown. Replacing the standard laces with a flecked pattern, the uppermost eyelet is manufactured in metal – again reinforcing its aesthetic ties to construction boots. Calling attention to its branding with debossed heel branding and elevated Swooshes, the AF-1 is also given further design hierarchy by black detailing on the insoles and tongues.
The Air Force 1 ‘Flax’ is available right now for $130.
