‘Miami Vice’ Inspires the Overkill x PUMA ‘Ocean Drive’ Collaboration

Sneakers inspired by 1980s cop show Miami Vice is not a new concept, but Overkill’s new ‘Ocean Drive’ collaboration with PUMA may be one of the best executions of the theme yet. Expect lots of pastel blues and pinks laid across appropriately retro models. For this effort, the German partners have selected the Blaze of Glory heritage runner and Slipstream Lo throwback basketball shoe.

The Blaze of Glory is a bright-blue banger that features a slew of materials, including leather, suede, nylon, and pinstripe mesh, which Overkill say ‘could also be found in [Miami Vice’s] Sonny Crockett’s wardrobe’. It’s finished with pink accents and custom branding reminiscent of the TV show’s font.

The Slipstream Lo is a more restrained take on the Miami theme. Its predominately white leather upper is accented with a powder blue suede Formstripe that’s trimmed in pink, which matches the lining peeking out. The yellowed midsole adds to the vintage look of the model.

Both pairs come with extra flamingo-branded insoles, extra laces and bespoke packaging – the BOGs come in a crazy triangular shoe box!
