Packer Add Second Ultra4D to adidas Consortium Collaboration
became the to add their collaborative touch to the last year. This distinction was earned by way of the long-running business’ status as a Consortium partner, a tier reserved for only a few prestigious stores around the world. Packer thusly make full use of another opportunity to work on the Ultra4D by reprising some familiar features from their previous effort, while also bringing on some new additions.
Most Ultra4Ds to date have been tonal, if somewhat flat, creations that methodically showcase Primeknit uppers (its pattern borrowed from the immensely popular UltraBOOST 1.0) and plastic cages bonded to adidas’ premier 4D soles. Packer added some depth to the design by introducing suede to the toe bumpers, which they’ve done again here with matching green uppers. This is contrasted against a white midfoot lace cage and heel counter, while the rear quarter lining is dipped in navy, nodding to the first colab. Underfoot, bone white 4D soles invert the blacked-out version used previously, and are connected to a blue outsole. Finishing touches including red aglets and triangle branding carry over the motifs from last time.
The Packer x adidas Consortium Ultra4D will release exclusively through their physical and online stores on July 16.
