Parley Colab Helps Launch New adidas UltraBOOST 6.0
and have been in , showcasing both the latest in performance tech and street style models that use recycled plastic waste recovered from the ocean. While this 6.0 uses repurposed components, the overall execution is anything but a rerun.
The UltraBOOST 6.0 is already boasting the highest recycled material composition of the flagship running line yet, thanks to its judicious inclusion of Primeblue textile – made in part from Parley Ocean Plastic – mixed into the Primeknit uppers. This means less new material being required during manufacture. Similarly, the external heel counter and striped lace cage are now made from MILGUARD OCEAN C, which also uses recovered ocean plastics to create a polymer structure and hardy texture.
Underfoot, the tried and true full-length BOOST midsole remains in tandem with Continental rubber outsoles. There isn’t any official word that these parts have undergone sweeping changes, but surely they’re working on an environmentally friendlier update. In the interests of cutting down potentially harmful dyes and pigments, these UltraBOOSTs are completely colour-free, save for the slightly grey finish of the external hardware.
The Parley x adidas UltraBOOST 6.0 just released in Europe, but will land Stateside on April 24 directly from adidas.
