Patta and Mizuno Are Back With a Third Sky Medal Colab
After previous link-ups in and , and are back again with their third collaborative take on the . Inspired by the rich red and earthy green shades found across Patta's recent in-line apparel collections, this third colab offers a mix of sport and lifestyle aesthetics atop a heritage design with a unique place in the Mizuno brand lineage!
Before it was a favoured silhouette for , the Sky Medal was a shoe with a singular purpose. It was debuted as an apres-competition sneaker for Mizuno athletes at the 1992 , intended to be worn by those athletes as they stood on medal stands. Even the great Carl Lewis – who would go on to spend most of his career repping – sported the Sky Medal as he accepted gold medals for the long jump and the 4 x 100-metre relay.
Patta's take on the championship-inspired silhouette sees the above-mentioned mix of red and green shades roost atop a perforated cream base, with the latter appearing in bold fashion on the midfoot's RunBird logo while the latter is used as a secondary colour on the majority of the overlays. There's also a dash of tan on the tongue and top eyestays to round off the look.
Expect the Patta x Mizuno Sky Medal to release via the Patta webstore and other select retailers on April 15. A retail price has yet to be revealed.
