People Have Some Thoughts on This Nike Air Max Tailwind 4

Legions of Air Max fans rejoiced with news that would be retroing the beloved Tailwind 4, but official images of an upcoming black/Volt make-up are causing quite a stir.

The root of the critiques? The TW’s shape. Maybe it’s a result of the slimmed-down tongue and a tight lace job, but the shoe seems to be missing some of its usual aggressive heft, throwing out the balance between the toebox and the rest of the shoe. Granted, it is a Tailwind 4 SP, and maybe that means a slight tweak, but why toy with the perfect proportions of the OG?

We’re going to reserve judgement on these until we see them on-foot — here’s hoping once they’re on, they’ll be back to their old bulky selves.
