Porter Enter the Vans Vault for Sk8-Hi, Old Skool and Slip-On Colabs
Japanese luggage company – full name PORTER YOSHIDA & Co. – produce some of the finest everyday carry and baggage around. They’ve been in operation since 1935, and have a particular proclivity for collaborations. It’s just as well that some of their biggest link-ups have been in recent months for their 85th anniversary. Among the upcoming colabs is this effort with Vault on an extensive capsule of sneakers and bags.
The collection consists of two editions of the , and one each of the and , each rendered in Porter’s almost-signature shades of olive, black and orange. Rather than opt for the smooth nylon that defines a majority of Porter’s products, these skate shoes maintain their performance origins with sturdy suede and canvas uppers. Because it is a Vault-tier release, expect higher quality materials and creative flexibility. Porter take full advantage of the latter, and apply vibrant orange hits to the lining and checkerboard lace details. Heritage Vans graphics are subtly printed onto these sneakers’ uppers too. With relatively colourful palettes, things are toned down underfoot with crisp white rubber midsoles and waffle tread outsoles.
To complement this colab, there is a Porter briefcase, wallet and luggage tag decorated in Vans graphics, and also features a mix of nylon bodies and checkboard canvas accents.
The Porter x Vans Vault collection releases on February 20 at select global stockists.
