Prada and adidas Officially Announce the Sustainable, Stylish 'Re-Nylon' Collection
Just a day after official images of all four leaked, the Italian luxury house and the Three Stripes have officially revealed their latest collection. Dubbed ' for Re-Nylon', the collection offers high-end luxury sportswear in a sustainable fashion by making use of Prada's Re-Nylon material, a fully recyclable and sustainable textile.
The Re-Nylon offerings include everything from track jackets to bucket hats and bags, but the most interesting part, of course, is the quartet of footwear options: two Lows and two Forum His. Each is available in all black or all white, and embellished with a removable Prada mini-pouch that boasts a signature enamelled metal triangle and metallic silver hardware. All four are constructed from Re-Nylon and overlaid by high-end leathers. This release has been a long time coming – you may recall that the colab was first teased by all the way back in June 2021!
When you dive a little deeper into the Re-Nylon material, it's not hard to see why adidas – a footwear company that's strived to make sustainability one of its key principles – chose it for this collection. It's created by reusing plastic ocean waste and textile fibre waste (kind of like adidas and PRIMEBLUE material) and can be recycled endlessly with no loss of quality, giving it a low environmental impact that stands in stark contrast to its high style.
If you're looking to grab a pair of Prada x adidas Forums or a piece of co-created apparel, you'll be able to do so when the collection releases via the Prada and adidas webstores on January 13.
