The PUMA MB.02 ‘Jade’ Shines Bright for the Lunar New Year

Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Hornets may be struggling (the team currently hold a 13-34 win/loss record), but LaMelo Ball nevertheless continues to flex some of the most impressive signature sneakers in the league. Headlined by the Rick and Morty x PUMA MB.01 last year, we’re expecting LaMelo’s shoes to get even more ‘schwifty’ in 2023, the upcoming MB.02 ‘Jade’ a special release for the year of the rabbit.

Launching in celebration of the Lunar New Year, the model features marbleised gradients of light green inspired by the sacred jade stone. Emblazoned with LaMelo’s signature wings (this time rendered in gold), the two-toned colourway further highlights the Lunar New Year theme by adding a droplet effect to the midsoles (the water aesthetic pays homage to the Chinese zodiac element for 2023).

Elsewhere, PUMA’s signature NITRO foam cushioning and full-coverage engineered traction with non-slip rubber ensure the sneaker is ready for the hardwood. Taking a closer look at the uppers, the MB.02 utilises woven mesh and multizone mixed materials for comfort and breathability.

Look for the PUMA MB.02 ‘Jade’ to launch on February 3.
