Level Up Your Literal Sneaker Game with PUMA's PL VGT Active Gaming Footwear
are plugging into the eSports sneaker scene with a new model called the PL VGT Active Gaming Footwear. This model suits all sedentary lifestyles spent on bucket seats, office chairs and share house sofas, thanks to its slew of technology tuned for pwning n00bz on the internets.
There appears to be some sort of tie-in with the Gran Turismo game series, as it reads ‘Vision GT’ on the medial side of these gaming shoes. Further research indicates that this is a reference to the virtual concept cars found in the latest games, which then explains why there is a Porsche text callout on the lateral side.
And because GT is a driving game, it explains the design of these shoes. The low-slung outsole is perfect for pedal pushing, especially with that wrapped heel. Above that is PUMA’s evoKNIT upper, creating a laceless and sock-like fit. This blacked-out upper is met with a heavily graphic Formstripe, containing more references to the GT game. There’s no cushioning midsole needed when there’s minimal working, and it increases feel and control.
As it reads on the outsole arch, these shoes are ‘designed to the requirements of active gaming’. The PL VGT Active Gaming Footwear is available now directly from PUMA.
