Reebok Add Ankle Height to the Club C Mid
The is a staple of the brand’s Classics range, and while it’s undergone various transformations and hybrid treatments over the years, they’ve all been built on a low-cut foundation. For those sneakerheads looking for a bit more ankle support, they’ll be pleased to learn Reebok have finally created the Club C Mid, which features a slightly taller ankle collar.
Creating a mid-cut sneaker out of a low isn’t simply a case of adding some extra material to the heel – at least not for sneakers with the heritage prestige of the Club C. Reebok have redesigned the rear collar to sit above a larger heel counter, and the eyestays have also been extended to account for the extra height.
Where the regular Club C had regular eyelets punched through leather, the top eyelet is now reinforced with an ovalised plastic ring, which has two width options to account for different ankle volumes. Naturally, the tongue has also been lengthened, and is sufficiently padded beneath its nylon exterior. The aforementioned ankle collar lining is now a smooth fabric type as opposed to the originally towelled surface.
