Needles and Reebok Release Beatnik Moc Sequel Collaboration
Japanese brand , of the multifaceted Nepenthes umbrella, have teamed up with once more and are releasing a four-pack of the Moc. This serves as a spiritual successor to the collaborators’ Beatnik effort from late 2018.
The Beatnik Moc is an evolved form of the Beatnik sandal and is more akin to a Chelsea boot than a clog. This means the enclosed heel and heightened ankle give Needles more room to work with – and work with it they do. A duo of tonal black and beige editions displays multiple embroidered purple ‘papillon’ butterflies (one of Needles’ best-recognised motifs) all across the upper. The other duo, also in the same monochromes, simply depict a single butterfly on the heels. Instead, a closer look at the upper reveals a patchwork-like arrangement of zigzag stitching and square panels. This is a nod to Needles’ ‘Rebuild’ line of up-cycled garments.
The Needles x Reebok Beatnik Moc will release via Nepenthes on January 7, followed by a global drop on January 20.
