Reebok Close Out the Season with Primaloft Padded Beatniks
The has had quite a remarkable year. Originally designed in the 90s as a campsite-adjacent leisure clog, its distinct design and growing popularity has predicated the in the past two years as an alternative to traditional sneakers. Closing out the FW21 season is the latest (and last) drop of Beatniks made for colder months, which sees Primaloft insulation added to a quilted upper.
Primaloft are known as the originators of synthetic fleece/wool insulation, which was first developed for military applications over 40 years ago. It had the same important qualities as wool – lightweight, compressible and warm – with the added trait of retaining heat when wet and the ability to dry quickly, something its natural equivalent failed to do. Today, despite many off-brand imitations and private-label remakes of their signature material, Primaloft is the gold standard for leading footwear, apparel and accessory brands – such as Reebok and the Beatnik.
This trio recalls the quilted upper previously used on the , but adds a nylon outer shell that’s filled with Primaloft insulation. Think of them as an on-foot sleeping bag! Given the red, white and black colourways, it’s an especially appropriate comparison here.
The new Beatniks will be exclusively available to Reebok UNLOCKED members on October 16, followed by a wider drop on October 20.
