This Reebok Club C is Madewell
Madewell is an American label with origins spanning back as early as 1937. Their modern incarnation is part of the J.Crew retail megalith, which has opened up some exciting opportunities to create some exclusive product. The latest example of this is a collaborative that exhibits some unique colour-blocking not commonly seen on the model.
Where many Club Cs of both inline and collaboration categories opt for simple tonal colourways, the Madewell edition opts for a bold two-toned look. It’s not a predictable ‘Panda’ combo of black and white either, opting for ‘Soft Ecru’ and ‘Chalk’ instead. In lay terms, nude and off-white result in dramatic contrast, especially when the former occupies most of the leather upper. Key areas in the toe cap, midfoot panel, ankle collar trim and laces use the latter shade to break things up. Because the tongue and lateral branding window are nylon, the ‘Soft Ecru’ actually takes on a pinkish hue in these areas, proving further accenting. Another unique touch to this pair is the leather tongue label replacing the regular woven type. The lot is sat atop a crisp white rubber midsole.
The Madewell x Reebok Club C is available right now exclusively from Madewell.
