An all-time favourite superhero film series for sneakerheads, Marvel’s X-Men has always provided preternatural inspiration for collaborative designs. Most recently recruited by Ronnie Fieg and the team at KITH for a massive ASICS GEL-Lyte III collection, the latest partnership is with Reebok on their classic Club C and Classic Leather. Celebrating the release of Disney’s X-Men ‘97 animated series (which premiered in March), the claws-out collection coincides with the series’ finale debuting later this month.

The first shoe of the collection is the Reebok Classic Leather ‘Wolverine’, and there's no prizes for guessing where the inspiration is flowing from. Enlisting Marvel’s Logan (codename Wolverine) for the occasion, the Classic Leather is replete with the iconic yellow colour on the leather and suede panels reflective of Wolverine’s iconic armour (not that he needs it with his self regenerative powers and Adamantium skeleton!).

The Club C on the other hand is inspired by Gambit, a mutant character that first appeared in the X-Men universe in July, 1990. Known for his ability to control and manipulate kinetic energy, the Club C features his iconic purple and grey wardrobe palette, with a charged vector logo on the midsoles. Both characters’ names are printed at the midfoot, while co-branding features on the tongue tags.

The Reebok Classic Leather ‘Wolverine’ and Club C ‘Gambit’ are available right now from Champs Sport.
