Reebok Quietly Retro the Kamikaze II on the Low
formidable retro basketball offering takes another big jump, as it picks the and rolls it out in low-cut form. Having recently re-entered the public eye via the somewhat unexpected – featuring none other than the Reign Man himself – the Kamikaze II Low now emerges in a more period-correct rendition of black and white.
Low-cut basketball shoes may be experiencing a bit of a comeback in the performance realm, but Reebok examples including the Low, the BB 4000 (another recent ), and now the Kamikaze II Low prove the practice predates the new millennium. The advantages of exposed ankles are many: freedom and flexibility, risqué breeziness, and much easier styling. On the flexing front, this Kamikaze II Low doesn’t need embellishments or superfluous additions. The tough black and white colourway in its distinct mix of black brushed synthetic nubuck and jagged white leather overlay is its iconic idiosyncrasy and a classic use of two-tone contrast. The beefy, Hexalite-cored, EVA foam midsoles are moulded to match the look, and are paired to grippy rubber tread.
The Reebok Kamikaze II Low in White/Black/Black is out now from a number of Reebok’s European portals, but expect a wider international drop to follow soon.
