Reebok Roll Out the Beatnik in Quilted Canvas
The has been one of the Vector brand’s strongest comebacks in recent memory, with the 90s mule-slash-sandal at the forefront of the ever growing . After a number of collaborations and material switches, the next editions see clean quilted canvas uppers matched to oversized ripple soles.
Reebok originally designed the Beatnik as an off-road lounge shoe, likely to be found around the campsite. In time, as urban and outdoor spaces merged, intrepid types didn’t bother taking their ‘Bok clogs off because the cushioned rippled soles were as capable on pavement as they were gravely terrain. As such, a cult following grew among inner-city sneakerheads looking for something a bit different.
Now, the Beatnik has a dedicated fan base, and it’s quickly proven itself as an all-season shoe thanks to the multiple materials on offer. This new canvas edition is an ideal transitional option (as it always has been), as the sturdy uppers can still live up to rugged use, while its light quilting means the top is as padded as the bottoms, which are shaded brown on these pairs.
Three colourways – ‘Vintage Blue’, ‘Fall Orange’, and ‘Flannel Grey’ – will release on August 1 from Reebok and selected boutiques including Sneakersnstuff, END. and Bodega.
