Release Date: The Nike Kobe 6 Protro ‘All-Star’
Anticipation has been building since for the return of the ‘All-Star’, and now we have a release date for the black and red beauties. When came through back in January, whispers suggested a February drop, but now it seems they will arrive next month – to coincide with NBA All-Star Weekend festivities.
Featuring an ominous black and red gradient over the top of those signature scaly uppers, the red on this colourway references the Western Conference All-Star team that Bryant appeared for 18 times during his 20-year tenure with the LA Lakers. The stark white printed Swoosh adds contrast, while the overall aesthetic is anchored by black on the heel counters, lining, tongue, and midsole.
The tragic loss of Kobe Bryant early last year rocked the basketball community to its core, prompting heartfelt tributes from both current and former NBA players. Many of the modern players attempted to process their grief by dusting off their favourite Kobe signature silhouettes to . Pairs of the Nike Kobe 6 Protro ‘All-Star’ retro are expected to hit European stores on March 6, while a Stateside drop will follow on March 8. With this year’s NBA All-Star game currently scheduled for March 7, it promises to be a busy couple of days both on and off the court.
