Release Date: USPS-Licensed Nike Air Force 1 Experimental ‘Postal Ghost’ Drops Soon!
The notorious Experimental inspired by the has received an official release date after months of delays. Avoiding a legal battle, the USPS and Nike eventually came to an agreement, allowing the latter to release this controversial Priority Mail–inspired colourway nicknamed the ‘Postal Ghost’ (likely a reference to a character from Scooby-Doo).
First revealed a few months back, the sneaker never hit shelves after USPS stated that they’d ‘take whatever actions it deemed necessary to protect its valuable IP rights’. However, in an official statement, USPS later revealed that it would ‘officially’ release the Air Force 1 colourway with Nike. Here’s what they said:
‘The U.S. Postal Service and NIKE, Inc. are pleased to announce they have come to a resolution on the upcoming release of Nike footwear inspired by the U.S. Postal Service. The Experimental Nike Air Force 1 footwear are officially licensed by the U.S. Postal Service.’
At this point, the finer details of the agreement are still unknown. However, the change of heart from USPS probably means that a portion of the profits from the sneaker will go their way. And we’re sure this official arrangement will make the colourway more sought-after than they were originally going to be.
The Nike Air Force 1 Experimental ‘Postal Ghost’ will officially release on May 28 for $130 via SNKRS.
