Update: New Release Info for the Air Jordan 4 ‘White Oreo’
After the reveal of , and an initial release date for June, it seems the release of the ‘White Oreo’ has been pushed back by a couple of weeks. Still expected to drop in a full family size run, the clean colourway offers up a slightly milkier alternative to the popular cookies and cream aesthetic we’ve seen on plenty of Jumpman sneakers. Blessed with a speckled midsole which mimics the cookie crumbles, this Jay keeps things pretty simple for the most part, with white leather dominating the upper. A red Jumpman logo on the tongue offers up the only notable contrast, and that’s not a bad thing!
The Air Jordan 4 was originally released in 1989, with taking the design language of burgeoning signature line to a whole new level. While details like bold sculpted tooling, visible Air cushioning, and the unmistakable Jumpman remained from earlier iterations, the AJ4 added breathable mesh netting on the upper and tongue, as well as ‘wings’ and moulded additions to the eyestay that allowed for multiple lacing options. Boosted by yet another memorable Mars Blackmon–led ad campaign, and being on MJ’s feet when he hit ‘The Shot’, the Air Jordan 4 quickly became an icon.
