Release Info: Maison Margiela and Reebok Remix the Classic Leather Tabi
and are continuing their ongoing partnership, following up the collaborative with two more colourways – one in white, and another in black. Drawing on codes evolved by Maison Margiela creative director John Galliano, the sneaker expresses the characteristics of the French fashion house through one of the ‘Bok’s most recognisable designs of all time.
Debuting back in early 2020, the Classic Leather Tabi represents the most distilled take on the codes of the collaborative duo to date. The hybrid sneaker draws inspiration from the Maison Margiela Tabi from 1988. With its recognisable split-toe construction – and the signature footprint it creates – the Tabi represents the deconstructive design philosophy synonymous with the house. Meanwhile, there’s also obvious Reebok DNA from 1983’s Classic Leather, with the OG silhouette entirely rebuilt to accommodate the Tabi’s split-toe design. These latest styles make use of nappa leather with an EVA sole, arriving in stunning tonal colourways.
The latest batch of Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabis will be available from February 26 via Maison Margiela and Reebok’s respective webstores.
