Those that were around the sneaker scene in the 2010s will remember the cultural might of the Riccardo Tisci and Nike partnership, which produced an array of sought-after heaters. Now, it’s been rumoured that that Tisci and the Swoosh are back together, with anonymous industry sources telling Complex that a Shox TL and range of apparel are on the way.

While neither Tisci or Nike have commented on the rekindling of their flame as of yet, we wouldn’t be surprised if these rumours were true. At Nike’s ‘On Air’ event in Paris, where the brand's Olympic kits were revealed, the designer was spotted in the front row sitting next to Swoosh CEO John Donahoe and Nike golden child, Travis Scott.

Riccardo Tisci is an Italian designer and Central Saint Martins graduate who has worked on his own label, PUMA, Antonio Berardi and Ruffo Research. In 2005, Tisci was named creative director for Givenchy haute couture, ready-to-wear and accessories, and later in 2008 was tasked with the house's menswear. Famously, Tisci was also blessed with the chief creative officer role at Burberry, spearheading the brand’s rebrand that included the transformation of their logo.

When it comes to his collaborative work with Nike, Tisci is somewhat of a silent assassin, bringing his gothic minimalism to classic silhouettes with ease. An avid wearer of Air Force 1s, Tisci has decked out the heritage 80s hooper multiple times over the years. He’s been ahead of the curve with many of his designs, namely the Air Cast 1, which was a sneaker made into a short leg cast, that was infamously brought back in concept by MSCHF. Other Sneaker Freaker Riccardo Tisci x Nike favourites include the Free Train Force Flyknit Pack, NikeLAB Air Zoom Legend and Dunk Lux Chukka. His high-top Air Max 97 went over a treat, and so did his plethora of mythological AF-1 Highs.

There’s no official word from Nike or the Tisci camp just yet, but stay locked to Sneaker Freaker to keep updated. The collaboration between the two, which is alleged to feature the Shox TL and an array of apparel, is set to land mid-2025.
