Salehe Bembury Announces ‘Art Friends Thumbs Up Good Job’ Crocs Series

A Syracuse University graduate, Bembury first joined , in 2015, as a footwear designer, before becoming the vice president of sneakers and men's footwear at where he was responsible for some iconic designs, including the popular Versace Chain Reaction sneakers. The first announcement of Salehe Bembury's involvement with Crocs came in late 2020, with Bembury’s flagship project involving the Involving a unique, fingerprint-like design on the uppers, the Pollex Clog was created through three-dimensional ridges that added both style and functional grip.

Bembury’s latest Crocs project is dubbed the ‘Art Friends Thumbs Up Good Job’, a series of new Pollex Clogs co-designed with fellow creatives. Announced via Instagram, the series invites artists and industry visionaries to reimagine Crocs' iconic footwear.

The inaugural release features a collaboration with Jonas Wood, a contemporary artist from Los Angeles renowned for his genre-defying portraits, still lifes, and landscapes. Admired for his hoops-themed artwork and bold graphics, Wood often combines historical motifs with modern-day imagery of objects and interiors.

This collaboration infuses Wood’s signature stippling technique and colour blocking in shades of blue, grey, and black across the footwear. As part of the ‘Art Friends Thumbs Up Good Job’ series, these special edition Crocs will be released on August 22 at 9 a.m. PST exclusively at BeASpunge, with only 1,000 pairs available.
