Salehe Bembury Branches Out with the Crocs Cypress Boot in ‘Mallard’
Since joining as creative director of the line back in 2023, has been sowing the seeds for a crop of new models that will mark the brand’s next steps into the sneakersphere. The latest fruit of his labour, the , is another example of his out-of-the-box thinking, as Bembury has added his signature detailing to the Crocs Classic Clog to create a trail-ready species of duck boot.
Named after an evergreen coniferous tree native to warmer regions of the Northern Hemisphere, the Cypress builds on Bembury’s existing nature-inspired Crocs designs. The model continues the topographical fingerprint detailing on the sole unit first seen on the ; however, there is a slight difference as the flowing lines take on a thinner and more condensed pattern to mirror the Cypress tree’s fern-like branches. From here, the rugged aesthetic is furthered by the model’s utilitarian midsection and shroud, which are the other main elements that transform the Classic Clog into this sturdy duck boot silhouette. The midsection is one of the most practical elements, as its familiar shape comes with all the antibacterial and waterproof perks of Crocs’ Classic Clog, only without the usual perforated holes as this is what allows it to be a puddle-proof stomper. This dark brown midsection leads onto a forest green canvas shroud for a secure, boot-like fit that is reinforced with double-stitched details and tied up with a simple lace unit to keep them tight while you’re traipsing the trails.
The debut ‘Mallard’ colourway of the Crocs Cypress boot is scheduled to drop in the US on December 17, with a global release going down on December 18. Hit the links below to secure your size.
