The Salomon ACS Pro Advanced Doesn’t Muck Around
heads are flipping out right now because the French hiking brand turned lifestyle-geared behemoth has a new silhouette, it’s making rounds on Instagram and definitely doesn’t muck around! It’s been dubbed the and will follow the fan-favourite plus and colabs.
For eagle-eyed fans of the brand, this model may look familiar and that’s because it’s actually a retro release of the early 2000s GCS Pro. An OG Salomon trainer, it was originally designed alongside adidas by none other than the legendary Christian Tresser, with GCS standing for Ground Control System, a shock absorbing tech that was used by Team Trefoil back in the day. The fresh new updated ACS iteration boasts the same assertive energy and signature details that made this somewhat of a grail sneaker.
Multiple meshes and synthetic materials make the upper, donning each side is a hectic six-pronged cage housing completely translucent mesh. Signature Salomon details are in place, such as the toggle lace system, however sticking true to its predecessor there’s two rear pull-tabs and sharp metal eyelets. Instead of the Ground Control System featured on the original, this updated joint will rock Salomon’s Agile Chassis System.
The Salomon ACS Pro Advanced will release on December 7 at select retailers such as SVD. We’ve also included a post from of the OG GCS Pro and the original sketch from the man himself, Christian Tresser.
