Saucony Get Elemental with the ‘Astrotrail’ Pack

The inspiration for sneaker design can come from countless sources, from a childhood memory, to a kitsch-y concept, to some esoteric idea that gets distilled into the panels of a sneaker. For their latest release, Saucony have drawn inspiration from the universe’s base elements: water, earth, fire and air.

Appropriately, each element is represented by a different model. First up, the popular Shadow 5000 reps the ‘Air’ theme – an appropriate choice for the retro 80s runner whose cushy sole is still like walking on clouds. An outdoors-y colour palette – which carries across the whole collection – brings together stone-hued suede, magenta ripstop, and blue and yellow accents. Next, the trail-ready Peregrine 11 appropriately waves the ‘Earth’ banner, with its PWRTRAC rubber lugs and reinforced upper to protect you from trail debris. Similarly, the Mad River 2 TR takes on ‘Water’, flooded with a blue-grey fade to freshen up your feet. Finally, the Grid Azura ‘Fire’ brings the heat, practically exploding with colour, wearing a searing orange-yellow ripstop fade and poppin’ purple outsole.
