Serena Williams kicked off her 2018 US Open run yesterday with an easy 6-4, 6-0 win over Magda Linette at Flushing Meadows. For sneakerheads, though, the importance of the win paled in comparison to the biggest news of the night: Serena’s coveted got an official release. dropped the kicks with a surprise release via Nike SNKRS just ahead of Serena’s first round matchup and, as expected, the ‘Queen’ colab disappeared in a heartbeat.

Thankfully, however, the release means we can now take a detailed and official look at the Virgil Abloh—designed drop and, who knows, maybe if Serena makes it all the way to the finals fans will get another crack at the AM97 in the weeks ahead.
