Shoez Gallery and Le Coq Sportif Pay Tribute to Lyon With the R1100
Shoez Gallery introduced sneaker culture to the French city of Lyon in 2003. Their latest exclusive R1100 collaboration is inspired by the picturesque surroundings they’ve called home for 20 years.
The boutique is located at the base of La Croix-Rousse, both the name of the hill and the neighbourhood situated atop. This base and its historical significance during the Renaissance period provide the inspiration for the warm palette of the R1100.
The R1100 is a classic LCS runner from 1992 and features the era’s flagship Dynactif technology in the midsole to deliver efficient heel-to-toe comfort. Three decades on, it takes a backseat for Shoez Gallery to upgrade the upper with premium leather and suede in a classy brown, tan and grey colourway. There’s still some mesh on the toe box to prevent things from getting too steamy. Shoez Gallery branding appears on the heels and tongue to complete the custom package and call out the 20th anniversary of the store.
The Shoez Gallery x Le Coq Sportif R1100 releases on May 13. It is a limited edition of 300 and comes packaged in a special shoebox containing five postcards featuring the shoes worn around Lyon.
Bon anniversaire, Shoez Gallery!
