Update 14 November, 2023: Just last week we got wind of the news that Sneaker Politics and adidas would be bringing their Consortium Cup Samba entry to life, and now we’ve finally got our first proper look at the sneaker by way of a collaborative campaign. Dressed in bold hues of royal blue, red and green, the Samba features a special-edition hangtag and POLITICS branding. The sneaker will be released in-store on November 18, and an online release will follow a day later, on November 19.

After the success of its community-driven Consortium Cup initiative, adidas Consortium is set to drop a number of Samba colourways from the first round of the competition. The capsule kicks off with this effort from LA-based retailer Sneaker Politics, which brings bold tones to the typically subdued terrace style.

The Sneaker Politics x adidas Consortium Samba sees the shoe take on a mixed-material construction, combining royal blue nylon uppers, red leather accents and navy suede overlays. If that wasn’t enough, the pair also features a green suede tongue and leopard print lining, while a gum sole provides an extra pop of contrast. Finally, the usual Samba branding has been swapped out for a gold-foiled ‘POLITICS’ wordmark, and a special-edition adidas Consortium Cup hangtag calls out to the collaboration’s origins.

For those looking to get their hands on the Sneaker Politics x adidas Samba ‘Consortium Cup’, the sneaker will be available to buy on November 18.

And in case you were wondering, here’s why the Samba has been everywhere this year.
