Sneakersnstuff Surprise Drop the SNS x New Balance 991 'Secret Colourway'
and have been working together for almost two decades, and the recent release of their paid homage to the long-running collaborative relationship, which started with two in 2005. When the dynamic duo dropped, there were rumblings of a third 'secret colourway', and now those rumours have been verified – the Sneakersnstuff x New Balance 991 'Secret Colourway' just released!
Constructed of premium perforated leather and pigskin suede, the 'Secret Colourway' looks a lot like the yellow-and-blue SNS style that dropped recently. However, it swaps out the former pair's bright blue suede for a more minty blue tone. This shift in colour is actually a nod to a fun piece of New Balance lore: when SNS co-founder Erik Fagerlind was designing his pair of 577s back in 2005, the Flimby, UK factory got the blue colourway he wanted slightly off!
Though the combination of tones may suggest a nod to the Swedish flag, it's in fact an acknowledgement of the Canary Islands – a nation with a similar flag to Sweden that Fagerlind's father-in-law hails from. It wouldn't be a New Balance sneaker without a combo of looks and performance, so an ABZORB midsole serves up lush cushioning to complete the style.
Head over to the SNS website now to cop the 'Secret Colourway.' It's available in both men's and women's sizes, and priced at $259.
