Snow Peak and New Balance Tokyo Design Studio Go ‘Triple Black’ on the R_C4 Mid

Founded by Yukio Yamai, Snow Peak are a Japanese outdoors brand focusing on highly-technical garments and goods used for adventurous activities like camping and hiking. Within the sneaker space at the moment, they’re mostly known for their collaborations with New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio on high-tech silhouettes such as last year’s Niobium Concept 1.

At it again, the duo are back on the R_C4 which they reworked back in 2019 following their streamlined RC_1 in 2018. Boasting a similar build, this time going for a mid-cut style the whole shoe has been decked out in all-over black.

Full of tasty technical elements, the upper has been constructed using CORDURA ripstop material and a GORE-TEX base. A sole unit of dreams, it has been injected with ABZORB foam alongside an ENCAP REVEAL midsole with an outsole made by none other than Vibram. A neoprene tongue makes way for a strap that curves around the collar and is fixed using a FIDLOCK fastening. With minimal branding in place, the N logo has been subtly placed on each side with a dual-logoed insole.

You can expect the Snow Peak x New Balance Tokyo Design Studio R_C4 Mid ‘Triple Black’ to arrive at select retailers on February 19.
