Eric Cartman's Awesom-O 'Robot' Inspired This South Park x adidas Forum Low
Over the last two years, South Park and have teamed up to bring some of the ever-controversial cartoon's most notable figures like , , and their own sneakers, but now they're going a bit deeper with their fan service, thanks to the 'Awesom-O.'
Awesom-O, a cardboard 'robot' that's really Eric Cartman in disguise, only appears in a single episode of South Park: the eponymously-titled fifth episode of the eighth season. Cartman takes on the guise of the robot in order to befriend his classmate Butters, find out his deepest and most embarrassing secrets and use them to publicly mock him. Of course, things quickly go haywire. Cartman, completely committed to maintaining his charade, nearly starves – as Butters believes robots don't need to eat – and is before getting wrapped up with Hollywood executives hungry for a movie idea and the military, who believes he can be used as a secret weapon.
The Forum Low 'Awesom-O' is dressed in brown and features textured detailing for a nod to Awesom-O's cardboard construction, while multi-colour detailing above the toebox acknowledges his flashing lights and a silver heel hit salutes his feet and arms. There's even an Awesom-o spellout graphic on the collar strap, which sits above a special tongue badge with his robotic visage. Black bungee laces tie the assemblage together, and the shoes come packaged in a special box that shows the town of South Park, Butters as Professor Chaos and Cartman as Awesom-O.
