adidas Originals New York Spzl (Carlos Pack)
UPDATE: In a surprise move, the Three Stripes have re-released the grey suede Spezail edition of the New York – and we're glad they did. The resurrected retro runner features mix of grey suede and 'Granite' mesh finished with a nod to NY across its top stripe. Those that missed out on the colourway all the way back in December of 2015 now have a chance to snare a pair at select stockists including .
Many moons ago now, Gary Aspden and his motley crew of Three Stripes pirates set sail for Argentina after receiving strong intel about a suspected vintage sneaker Valhalla in Buenos Aires. The whispers proved accurate, as Gary's squad blew the dust off hundreds of rare pairs at an ancient store presided over by an enigmatic sneaker crack king, Carlos, who sometimes decided to sell shoes and other times opted to keep the good stuff for himself. The trip served as a massive source of inspiration for Gary Aspden's collection, which has fruited dozens of new takes on old adi fanboy classics, and now the SPZL franchise is paying homage to the godfather himself. We see two new renditions of the New York runner here, and there's no prizes for guessing why that colourway is included. Carlos's countenance is printed on the tongue tag too! Pay your respects to the grand master hoarder from this Thursday, by copping a pair from retailers like Footpatrol.
