StockX, XBOX and adidas Launch 'Campaign with a Cause' with Special Forum Tech
and revealed a collaborative earlier in October, but now more details around the gaming-inspired sneaker, its mission and its release have been announced. The shoe is indeed a celebration of Xbox's 20th anniversary (any millennial gamers feel a bit old?!) and it'll release exclusively through 's 'Campaign for a Cause,' so a charitable aspect is in play.
Inspired by the original shade of Xbox green and the legacy of Halo: Combat Evolved, one of the original Xbox's launch titles in 2001, the Forum Tech combines a familiar shape with new materials, a BOOST-filled midsole and special Xbox branding. Apart from commemorating the 20th anniversary of Xbox, the shoe will be used as a vessel to support Gamers Outreach, a charity that provides hospitalized children with gaming systems and other technology to keep their spirits up as they undergo treatment.
'We’re seeing more StockX customers favour products and brands that have a presence in both the digital and physical worlds, and this collaboration between adidas and Xbox not only appeals to that preference but also speaks to the convergence of fashion and gaming culture more broadly,' said Tom Woodger, StockX's VP of Cultural Marketing. 'Through this partnership, we’re unlocking access for the values-driven, nex-gen consumers fueling this shift and giving them the opportunity to donate to a more than worthy cause in Gamers Outreach.'
Interested in getting your hands on a pair? Head to StockX between October 21 at 12 PM EST and October 23 at 11:59 AM EST – each $10 donation you make counts as one raffle entry, and all proceeds will be given to Gamers Outreach.
