STORY mfg. and Reebok Naturally Take the Beatnik and Club C Outdoors
continue their strong run of collaborations with a diverse range of parties, this time bringing in environmentally-conscious clothiers STORY mfg. For their first-ever sneaker colab since launching in 2013, they’ve reworked the and through the lens of connecting with the outdoors. And the shoes are vegan-friendly!
The Beatnik has been one of Reebok’s success stories in the past couple of seasons, as inline offerings have found their stride with multiple material stories. However, the colabs still save something special, such as STORY mfg.’s effort. They’ve specced the Beatnik’s uppers with a lightly padded, undyed linen-blend fabric that’s a tactile dream thanks to the slubby texture. Some contrasting motifs are thickly embroidered in blue for textural depth, while complementary grey hardware and milky ice ripple soles simply work. Furthermore, the heel strap is removable, converting the closed-toe sandals into a pair of mules!
Meanwhile, the Club C remains a popular collaborative template that’s particularly receptive to palette and fabric swaps. This edition sees the same undyed linen cover the entire upper, paired to grey lining that’s in tune with the Club C’s OG flavours. They’re finished with the same blue embroidery and milky ice soles.
The STORY mfg. x Reebok collaboration will release on STORY mfg.’s webstore on February 4, followed by a wider global drop on February 6.
