The bucket hat and tiny handbag kingpins at announced their with earlier this month, and now Jacquemus have provided us with our first look at what appears to be some of the collection's pieces. Spotlighted in a mini-lookbook shot in Hawaii and featuring Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney, the images show a stripped-back black tennis skirt and top, plus a white-and-black pair of Nike sneakers. Jacquemus founder Simon Porte Jacquemus also announced that he'd be revealing his next collection, 'LE PAPER' on June 27, and that further pieces from his Nike collaboration would be part of the lineup.
'For this collaboration with Nike, I wanted to create a collection that reinterprets athletic women’s sportswear in a minimal way,' Porte Jacquemus said when the collection was announced. 'I have always been inspired by vintage ACG pieces and Nike campaigns from the 1990s.'
The collection will be made up of 15 pieces in total, and re-interpret old-school Nike Sportswear and styles with new materials like DRI-Fit tech. In fashion speak, it's supposed to 'invigorate celebration of the multidimensionality of contemporary athletes.' The piece that has excited the sneakersphere the most is a promised , a shoe that has yet to be revealed. Some sources have indicated that Sweeney is wearing the Jacquemus-designed Air Humara in the lookbook, but her footwear looks more like a trim, low-cut indoor soccer or volleyball shoe from the Nike archives than the chunky, blocky Air Humara.
Expect the Jacquemus x Nike collection to hit the Jacquemus webstore on June 28, one day after the 'LE PAPER' collection makes its debut. It'll then arrive via Nike channels later this year.
