Take On Trails with the Latest adidas Terrex Swift R3
The Swift model has been climbing to the top of trail trekking minds for over a decade now, and it’s about to get another upgrade in the Terrex Swift R3 model. This incremental update sees the familiar trail design get some minor tweaks, while also retaining some essential tech for trudging through the wilderness.
Trail shoes have to endure some of the harshest environmental conditions, and adidas’ experience ensures the Terrex Swift R3 is equipped for the task. Durable synthetic panels are welded across the mudguard and toe cap for seamless reinforcement, which will be more resistant to snagging too, as there are no seams to get caught and unravel. This also means the uppers are more water resistant – some options will also include a liner for guaranteed waterproofing – but mesh inserts on the toe and midfoot help vent internal moisture. Ripstop material elsewhere is pretty much a prerequisite for this sneaker genre. Underfoot, things are likewise amply designed with long-time sole providers Continental mixing up a special rubber compound for more stepping and less slipping out on the trail.
The adidas Terrex Swift R3 will release via selected retailers (expect sport stores rather than sneaker boutiques) from April 15.
