The 1LDK x Reebok Club C is a Very Subtle Flex
The is a very versatile model that equally works in both over-the-top thematic editions and understated executions. This collaboration with Japanese retailer 1LDK is an example of the latter – it’s so subtle that’s it’s likely to be missed at first sight. But the longer one looks at it, the clearer it becomes that this is an IYKYK kinda flex.
1LDK are a Japanese clothing retailer stocking clean urban-oriented daily wears. So it makes sense that this Club C is very complementary to the store’s smooth style. They make minimal intervention to the standard white version of the retro tennis sneaker, and retain its garment leather construction. However, for some textural depth, the toe bumper is a contrasting panel of brushed nubuck in a slightly beige finish. Elsewhere, navy appears on the outsole, tongue label, and custom woven lateral window bearing the 1LDK name. See how it’s easy to miss? Not that it’s a bad thing…
Other details not immediately visible to the naked eye include the primo leather lining and insole; GR Club Cs typically use terry lining and textile insoles, so the 1LDK version is a definite upgrade.
The 1LDK x Reebok Club C releases on April 4 in very limited numbers via their webstore and brick-and-mortar locations. Yep, Japan only…
