The Air Jordan 4 Golf Links Up With OG ‘Military Blue’ Colourway
It’s been quite a few years since sneakerheads were treated to a retro of the ‘Military Blue’. In fact, the last time it released was in 2012, and are likely acutely aware of this statistic. Not only have they been gradually ramping up the number of AJ4 releases this year, but they are also dropping an Air Jordan 4 Golf in ‘Military Blue’ – much to the yearning frustration of many non-golfing Jordan fans.
The reason Golf versions of Jordans exist in the first place is the well-documented history of love for the links. This growing genre of has essentially slapped a studded golf outsole onto a number of OG Jordan signatures, and the AJ4 has proven among some of the most popular. The uppers are essentially visually identical to the basketball version, but there should be a waterproof layer on the underside, plus the word ‘GOLF’ is printed on the insoles. Similarly, the Air midsoles are reprised from the OG, but are now joined to ice outsoles with seven removable screw-in studs.
With Jordan Brand clearly capable of reproducing the ‘Military Blue’ colourway for the Golf version of the AJ4 – which releases on September 3 – does that perhaps mean a long overdue retro of the regular basketball OG is on the way?
