The Air Jordan 4 ‘Lightning’ Is Slightly Late
After whispers of its return started as far back as , official pics have now emerged of the ‘Lightning’, and it sure is an electric look. Dominated by a vibrant yellow hue across the upper, the overall aesthetic cops contrast from judicious touches of grey, white and black. As you’d expect, the remainder of the silhouette features all the usual AJ4 goodies, including the iconic mesh netting on the midfoot and forefoot, and premium nubuck uppers.
First hitting the hardwood in 1989, the Air Jordan 4 saw expand on the design language he’d used on MJ’s previous signature silhouette. While details like bold sculpted tooling, visible Air cushioning, and the unmistakable Jumpman remained, the AJ4 added breathable mesh netting on the upper and tongue, as well as ‘wings’ and moulded additions to the eyestay to allow for multiple lacing options.
