The Air Jordan 4 ‘Lightning’ Retro is Finally Almost Here
News first broke of bringing back the ‘Lightning’ , and after multiple shifting release dates, early looks and vague intel, the drop is finally locked in. For now.
Contrary to previous reports, the Air Jordan 4 ‘Lightning’ did not release over the weekend on August 7. What is now confirmed is the bold yellow retro will return in full family sizing at the end of this month, with details more or less carried over from the first time they struck. These specs include yellow nubuck uppers with nubuck lace ‘wings’ and heel tabs instead of the usual plastic variety, raised jewel Jumpman heel branding, grey tongue lining, and a white midsole. Per previous reports, the shoebox is updated for 2021, featuring a yellow and cement speckle type rather than the mid-2000s black/grey type.
Thankfully, the ‘Lightning’ retro shouldn’t be as difficult to cop as the 2006 original, which required customers to have been signed up to the Team Jordan membership program, and to have a pretty decent Internet connection. The entire release was conducted online and sold out pretty quickly – it’s likely the 2021 edition will go the same way.
Update: The Air Jordan 4 ‘Lightning’ is currently scheduled to release on August 28 from Nike SNKRS and selected retailers.
