The All-New Nike Air Max Pre-Day Debuts on Air Max Day
are sticking with their tradition of releasing a brand new model on the annual , this year unveiling the uber-futuristic Air Max Pre-Day. A modern take on joggers of the golden era (1979-81) like the , the shoe is highlighted with a visible Air heel unit.
Naturally, the Air Max Pre-Day blends aesthetics of the late-1970s and the 2020s, constructed with minimal material waste, with at least 20 per cent recycled content by weight (the upper is 100 per cent recycled polyester; the outsole about 13 per cent Nike Grind Rubber).
The heel Air bag is the same one used in current Air Max 1s, Air Max 90s, Air Jordan 3s, 4s, 5s and 6s. The difference? Rather than only visible through a window, the full Air unit is now exposed between the midsole and outsole. Aside from the visual differences, the new Air unit also brings a new underfoot sensation, achieving more bounce with each stride. As for the debut colourway, the upper mixes nostalgic Volt-like tones with green and black, designed to mimic washed-out runners of the golden era.
The Nike Air Max Pre-Day releases on Air Max Day, March 26, via SNKRS and at select global retailers.
