The atmos x adidas Superstar ‘Mt. Fuji’ Brings the Fireworks

Japanese collaborative powerhouse atmos have joined forces with adidas to deliver a colourful and detailed Superstar. Dubbed the ‘Mt. Fuji’, the design features artwork by Uki Yoemon from Three Tides Tattoo, and depicts Japan’s iconic tallest mountain alongside a vibrant melange of firework pops.

The impending release continues the strong momentum of atmos’ involvement in three-way colabs in recent months. In that time, atmos have linked with Jeff Staple for two triumvirate releases: an atmos x Jeff Staple x PUMA Suede ‘Pigeon and Crow’, and an atmos x Jeff Staple x New Balance X-Racer Utility.

The Superstar has been a popular collaborative canvas over the years, contributing to the silhouette’s timeless appeal over 50 years since its emergence as a revolutionary basketball model. Just like many other legendary silhouettes, the Superstar evolved from its hardwood origins, most notably within the hip hop scene in the mid-1980s. 

Pairs of the atmos x adidas Superstar ‘Mt. Fuji’ are expected to hit atmos Tokyo on March 6, with details of a potential wider release yet to be announced.
