The Bricks & Wood x New Balance 57/40 Releases Worldwide This Week

The 57/40 is New Balance’s latest collaborative conduit, and LA brand Bricks & Wood is the newest partner to whip up an exclusive colourway of the hybrid-ish model. This follows a string of SMUs via a handful of Japanese retailers. Unlike the hyper-coloured renditions favoured by their Far East neighbours, Bricks & Wood take things in a more tonal direction, while still maintaining plenty of pigment pops.

Thanks to the 57/40’s multilayered upper, Bricks & Wood effectively have dozens of options for colours, materials and textures. However, they show some restraint and opt for a mostly dark green finish, but a closer look reveals they’ve taken some more creative liberty with the fabric swatches. Spot two different types of suede, plus a perforated type on the toe box and ankle collar, plus a small dab of smooth leather on the forefoot mudguard. This sits against a contrasting white and silver N logo, while a white and yellow midsole paired to a watermelon pink-red rubber outsole furthers the accents. Bricks & Wood leave a subtle trademark via tongue logo embroidery and printed insoles.

Following an exclusive drop directly from Bricks & Wood last week, this New Balance 57/40 collaboration will release at select NB stockists worldwide on June 4.
