The Coca-Cola x ASICS GEL-Quantum 90 Passes the Taste Test
Soft drink company Coca-Cola are by no means strangers to the sneaker world, having taken part in several high-profile collaborations with multiple sneaker brands in recent years. Up next for the beverage-sneaker crossover is this rich red edition of the GEL-Quantum 90.
The GEL-Quantum 90 is a lesser seen model from the contemporary ASICS casual range, so when it emerges, it’s always a bit of a treat. As should occasional consumption of the fizzy beverage that bears its branding on this shoe. It’s pretty straightforward here, with all-red mesh uppers providing plenty of space for the script Coca-Cola logo to take up room across the Tiger Stripe overlays. These oversized strips also double as the lace loops.
Underfoot is a predominately foam midsole, with a GEL insert focused on providing cushioning where it’s needed most underneath the heel. The GEL has been rendered green, making it somewhat reminiscent of the old-school glass bottles Coca-Cola was once (and is still occasionally) packaged in. Finishing touches to this crisp colab are additional Coca-Cola logos on the heel tab and tongue loop, plus branded insoles.
The Coca-Cola x ASICS GEL-Quantum 90 will release on April 9 via selected boutiques such as Naked.
