The Eames House x Reebok Club C 85's Dot Pattern Will Delight Design Buffs
After Eames House and kicked off their partnership with the reveal of a friends-and-family only at the start of the month, the two are back with their first retail release: a Club C 85 that uses the Eames' famed dot pattern.
Originally created in 1947 by Ray Eames and still present on many Eames product in 2021, the Eames dot pattern typically appears on items like wool throw blankets or couch cushions. Therefore, it's only fitting that this dot-patterned Club C features a modern beige textile upper that's covered from heel to toe in black dotted patterns. Apart from this design geek-style embellishment, the Eames x Reebok Club C 85 swaps out its standard midfoot and tongue branding for special Eames hits: the former locale offers up a white-and-black text logo, the latter supplies a large co-branded badge.
The branding even extends to the box. An object with the Eames name on it cuts no corners when it comes to detail, so this collaborative Club C is packaged in a tan box, with graphics that represent the colourful facade of the famed Eames House (also known as 'case study #8') in Los Angeles' Pacific Palisades neighbourhood.
The Eames x Reebok Club C 85 is set for an October 1 release at Sivasdescalzo. It will be priced at €120.
