The New Balance 2002R Sticks to the Script
don’t appear to be stopping with the anytime soon. The revived silhouette has been favoured for both NB’s inline releases and collaborative drops alike, and the former has been churning out some very solid simple editions. Such as these two tonal grey and navy pairs that are releasing this weekend.
The NB 2002R is a remake of the once uber-expensive and top-of-the-range 2002 from 2010, now brought back with the midsole borrowed from the (fun fact: the original 2002 didn’t have a bespoke midsole either; that came courtesy of the 1906). This revision hasn’t taken away the gloss from the 2002R’s triumphant return – in fact, it’s like the model is being debuted for the first time all over again. And because NB have released what must be 20, give or take, colourways and collaborations so far, the company is clearly committed to giving the 2002R the decent run it deserves.
So, by releasing it in essential shades of grey and navy, the 2002R has entered the wider lexicon of NB’s brand language. A language that includes supple suedes, breezy open mesh, and comfortable N-ERGY infused midsoles – all of which can be found here.
These two New Balance 2002R colourways will be available from June 5 at retailers like Billy’s.
